Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about AIRE systems, sizing, installation, and ordering.
Sizing & measuring
With a tape measure, note the height and width of your desired opening. For inside mount installations, measure the clear opening inside the frame. For face mount, measure the full frame face. You can download our detailed sizing guides on the Learn page.
The maximum width for a single screen is 14 feet. Above that, we can accommodate up to 16 feet, but a waiver is required as the screen can act as a sail in high wind. For very wide openings, we can attach two screens together or have them meet in the middle — see our Dual Central / Dual Lateral configuration.
For an inside mount installation, the jamb frame (sides) must have at least 43mm / 1⅜" of clearance, and the top track frame must have at least 47mm / 1⅞" of clearance. The entire inside mount frame must also be able to sit plumb within the opening.
If the jamb or top track doesn't fit inside your system, we offer a jamb extension application that allows you to mount our screen frame on the outside of your door system — a face mount configuration. Download the face mount guide on our Learn page.
Installation
We have detailed step-by-step installation guides available for download on our Learn page. Guides are available for XL inside mount, Standard Aire inside mount, and face mount configurations.
